Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data metri collects, why, who receives it, how long it is kept, and the choices you have.
Personal data we collect
- Account data: your email address. If you sign up with a password, a password hash and email verification state; we never store your password in plaintext. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your email address.
- Food diary data: the meals, foods, amounts eaten, cooked batches, calorie and macronutrient values, times eaten, and daily goals that you or your connected AI assistant save to metri.
- Billing data: your Stripe customer ID, subscription status and payment history. Card details are handled by Stripe; metri never receives or stores them.
- Website usage: page and screen identifiers, button and link interactions, form submissions, operation outcomes and times, with random visitor and session identifiers stored in your browser. We also record the session entry page, referring website domain, and source, medium and campaign labels from tagged links to understand how visitors find metri. Signed-in sessions are linked to your account. We keep raw events for 180 days to understand installation and billing flows and fix errors. These events do not include form values, email addresses, passwords, verification codes, full URLs, clipboard contents or diary entries.
- Technical data: standard server logs, such as request times and errors, kept by our hosting providers.
metri does not receive your photos, voice recordings or chat conversations. Your AI assistant processes them and sends metri only the structured diary entries you save.
How we use it
- To store your food diary and show it back to you and to the AI assistants you connect.
- To process your subscription and manage access to the service.
- To send account emails, such as verification and password reset codes.
- To provide support, keep the service secure and fix problems.
Who receives it
- Hosting and database providers (Convex, Vercel) store and serve your account and diary data.
- Payment processor (Stripe) handles subscriptions and payments.
- Email provider (Resend) delivers account emails.
- Sign-in provider (Google), only if you choose Google sign-in.
- AI assistants you connect, such as ChatGPT or Claude, which read and write your diary on your instructions. They are operated by their providers under your own agreement with them.
- Authorities, when required by law.
How long we keep it
- Account and diary data are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete this data within 30 days.
- Billing and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, then deleted.
- Server logs are kept by our hosting providers for a limited period, typically no longer than 30 days.

Sensitive information
metri is a food diary, not a health or medical records service. Please do not enter medical information such as diagnoses, prescriptions or test results.
